Solution-orientated concepts in technology and design for the entire hospitality industry

hogatec, International Trade Fair Hotels, Gastronomy, Catering, will be held in Düsseldorf from 12 to 15 September 2010. The sector’s key players and newcomers will be coming together for the 19th time now at the No. 1 event for technology and design. Here sector dialogue and best-practice are right at the top of the agenda.

The last hogatec saw 500 exhibitors from 19 countries presented to approximately 40,000 visitors in total from the entire hotel and catering industry. Decision-makers, in particular, make use of hogatec to inform themselves about new products, innovations and trends and to exchange sector know-how.

The success concept of the various theme parks and events within the trade fair is not only being retained at hogatec 2010 but also extended to include more of the very latest specials.

The already established theme parks "Ambience & Ambitions" and "Breakfast & Brunch" have fresh ideas on offer: they are showing live presentations of how to win guests' favour by using exclusive design, state-of-the-art technology or exceptional concepts, and on top of that, make profitable investments. The “IdeasKitchen” is also being launched once again as a highly enjoyable event with a multi-product approach. In 2010 the theme of coffee will be presented under the new title "COFFEE & Concept" at hogatec. At its re-launch this theme park will be presented in a smarter and more stylish format than ever before – complete with coffee cocktails, scene furnishings and a "tartlet taxi".

The well-known theme park "Cook & Chill" is set to become the "Catering Systems" theme park, which will now provide an insight into the entire spectrum of food production, regeneration and distribution systems, be it cook & serve, cook & hold, cook & chill or cook & freeze. The practitioner-focused presentation of the various production systems such as thermal contact, hot air and induction, will be even more in focus.

The "School Catering" theme park will be celebrating its premiere. In Germany school catering is undergoing marked change, not least due to the expansion of all-day schools. As a result, it is becoming an attractive growth sector for the industry and third-party food service providers. In 2010, for the first time, hogatec is presenting a forum for this market in the form of a separate special show.

Complementing the trade fair, the 3rd German Care Congress is being held on 13.09. The one-day specialist event particularly targets decision-makers from the health market. The informative specialist lectures delivered by top-notch speakers will address and clarify the latest questions on service in the growth market health. In addition, the congress has also proved to be an experts’ forum for the informal exchange of experience with specialists and colleagues.

A highlight of the hogatec 2010 support programme will be the 20th System Catering Forum. Growth concepts, sector talk along with rewarding meetings with top managers from the catering and hotel industry will be on the agenda when DEHOGA (German Hotel & Restaurant Association) and the Initiativkreis Gastgewerbe (Hotel and Catering Initiative Group) invite interested parties to the anniversary of the System Catering Forum on 14 September. The festive highlight will be the presentation of the National Trainee Award to up-and-coming talent in the system catering sector.

In addition to all this trade visitors will receive the opportunity to "look beyond their own backyards". Because, in parallel with hogatec, the international food fair trio InterMopro, InterCool and InterMeat will be held once again at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre with free admission for visitors using the hogatec ticket.

hogatec 2010 is open daily at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre from Sunday, 12 to Wednesday, 15 September 2010, from 10.00 to 18.00 hrs. The 1-day ticket costs 30 Euro (18 Euro in advance from the online box office (+ postage)), the 2-day ticket 47 Euro (35 Euro from the online box office). Students and trainees pay 10 Euro. In addition, the trade fair ticket includes free travel to and from the fairgrounds on public transport operated by the VRR (Rhine-Ruhr Transport Authority).
